Screens

Vertical solar shading for your windows: keeps the sun out while still letting you see outside.

How it works

Blocking the sun without blocking the view

A screen is a tautly tensioned fabric in front of the glass that blocks most of the sun's rays. Depending on the fabric, it lets through 1, 5 or 10 per cent of the light. That is enough to keep the room from going dark and to keep looking out from inside, while far less of the interior is visible from outside.

That is also the difference with a roller shutter. A roller shutter blacks out completely and insulates in winter too, but the view is gone. A screen opts for the view and for tackling summer heat, and can handle larger window surfaces: up to 18 m² compared with 12 m² for a roller shutter.

  • Light transmission of 1, 5 or 10%
  • Keep your view outside
  • Up to 18 m² per screen
Ranges

Three ranges, and the façade decides which

SolFix surface-mounted screens are held in the two guide rails by a zip system. That keeps the fabric permanently taut and makes them wind-resistant up to 6 Beaufort. They come with a square or rounded box, and in both surface-mounted and built-in versions.

SolFix IN is the built-in version for new builds: the entire box sits in the cavity wall, so nothing is visible on the outside wall and there is no visible bottom bar either. SolScreen, finally, has a rounded box and no zip system, giving the façade a more nostalgic look and making it especially suitable for smaller windows.

  • SolFix wind-resistant up to 6 Beaufort
  • SolFix IN fully within the cavity wall
  • SolScreen with a rounded box
