A surface-mounted roller shutter is fitted against the façade or in the window reveal. Because no cutting into walls is needed, installation is quick and your interior wall is left untouched. There is no box on the inside either, so nothing intrusive is added to your interior.

Having the shutter entirely on the outside also brings an insulation gain. A window with a surface-mounted roller shutter insulates up to 32% better than the same window without one, precisely because no holes are needed in the interior wall for heat to escape through.

The box

The box is visible, so you choose it too

With a surface-mounted roller shutter, the box hangs on the façade and so helps define the look of your home. There are three shapes: bevelled at 45° for a clean line, rounded, and half-round for a more classic façade.

The larger the window, the larger the box needs to be to roll up the curtain. The slat type and the operation play a part too. We work towards the most compact box that will do for your window. If you want to go higher without a larger box, the optional XSMAX technology gives you 40 cm of extra roll-up height with the same box size.
